Founded in 2022 by Beth Waters, Wildflower Lactation was created with the vision of making personalized, evidence-based infant feeding support accessible to all families. Since then, we have helped over 1,000 families access compassionate, expert lactation and postpartum care. Today, we are in-network with most insurance plans, including Medicaid, making high-quality support more accessible than ever!

Whether you are breastfeeding, chestfeeding, exclusively pumping, bottle feeding, combination feeding, or weaning, we believe every family deserves individualized support in reaching their unique feeding goals.

At Wildflower Lactation & Postpartum Support, our care is rooted in evidence-based practices while honoring biologically normal infant feeding and responsive parenting approaches supported by current scientific research.

  • Beth Waters is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and Certified Postpartum Doula. Her background includes a BS from U.C Santa Barbara and 95 hours of lactation training through Lactation Education Resources. She became a certified lactation counselor (CLC) through Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine in 2011 and later her IBCLC certification in 2019 after completing 1000 clinical hours.

    Her career in lactation support developed from nursing two children of her own through breastfeeding challenges and then running a local breastmilk cooperative to help families find donor milk for free. She then became an accredited La Leche League Leader to offer home visits and hosted a weekly postpartum support group at a local coffee shop in Hood River for 4 years. Frustrated with the lack of access to support in the Columbia Gorge, she founded a non-profit to in 2020 increase access to postpartum doula and lactation care.

    In the summer of 2022, she founded Wildflower Lactation And Postpartum Support in Portland, Oregon to continue her vision. Beth has a passion for helping families get the care they need during the postpartum period and recently opened Wildflower Postptarum Center with a goal of providing integrated, high quality accessible postpartum care.

    Her private practice uses a holistic approach to lactation consulting that balances the health and wellness of the lactating parent and their infant in the context of their individual challenges and lifestyle.

  • Her specialties include evaluation and management complex infant feeding challenges including: Tongue-Tie, reflux, low supply, triple feeding, night weaning and co-sleeping. Wildflower Postpartum Center accepts most insurances including OHP.

  • Beth is a mom of two wonderful teenage boys. She practices gentle parenting and is a passionate advocate for trans and autistic youth. She has 2 cats and a dog, enjoys playing music, singing, writing songs, painting, and practices Vedic meditation. She’s also a singer/songwriter with published albums under “Beth Waters”.

  • Megan is a certified professional doula and placenta specialist who has supported families in the Portland area for over five years. Grounded in more than a decade of experience working with families, she brings a warm, compassionate presence to her work. She also has 15 years of experience in various managerial roles, supporting her steady and reliable approach to care.

    Since 2023, Megan has been part of the Wildflower Lactation team as their Office and Billing Manager, where she thoughtfully supports both families and providers.

  • She completed her Health Sciences coursework and is currently enrolled in a Pathway 3 lactation program and mentorship as she works toward becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), training under Elizabeth Waters.

  • Outside of her work, she enjoys camping, gardening, and spending time near the water, soaking in everyday moments with her husband and children. She often is holding a good book in hand and has an ever evolving interest in herbal medicine.

  • Madilyn Forsberg is currently enrolled at Portland State University, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Spanish while working toward certification as a medical translator. She serves as the Scheduling Coordinator at Wildflower Lactation, where she helps create a welcoming, organized experience for the families the team supports.

  • Madilyn is especially passionate about medical translation and creating a comfortable, inclusive space for multilingual families.

  • In her free time, Madilyn enjoys hiking and is always open to recommendations for new trails and cozy coffee shops where she can study or read. She also loves exploring new hobbies, from crafting to martial arts.

  • Sophie is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Linfield University and over 10 years of experience caring for infants and children. She completed her lactation education through the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. She has a deep passion for supporting families in the postpartum season through compassionate, evidence-based care that helps parents feel confident and grounded in their feeding journeys. 

  • She is committed to inclusive, affirming support that uplifts parents and honors all family structures, with a heart for helping families feel connected to their instincts, their babies, and the natural rhythm of early parenthood. 

  • Outside of work, Sophie is a mom of two and a wife, sharing life with a lively collection of animals on what she affectionately calls her “tiny city farm”. She finds joy in travel, nature, and the everyday wildness of raising children

  • Rachel Krager is a Registered Nurse, Licensed Massage Therapist, Community Health Worker, and lactation counselor working toward her IBCLC. She has advanced training in Craniosacral Fascial Therapy for infants, children, and adults, prenatal and postpartum massage, external pelvic floor massage, and trauma-informed perinatal care.

  • Rachel’s areas of interest include Craniosacral Fascial Therapy using the Gillespie Approach, maternal and child public health, nervous system regulation, birth trauma support through bilateral tapping, and teaching infant massage to parents. She believes healing happens through connection, safety, and helping families better understand their own bodies and their babies.

  • When she’s not working, Rachel loves exploring Portland and the Pacific Northwest with her three children. They enjoy camping, hiking, biking, paddleboarding, trips to the coast, concerts, and spending time with friends and family. Rachel also enjoys gardening (she is a former OSU Master Gardener), yoga, meditation, acupuncture, and is hoping to join a roller derby or soccer team this year.

Megan Coppock, Midwife, group facilitator

  • Megan has been a practicing midwife for the past 11 years. She has been attending births for the majority of those years as a primary midwife at Andaluz Waterbirth Center, and has also been a homebirth midwife with Milk and Honey Birth Services for a handful of years. As a midwife, Megan has worked with over 1000 families and has attended around 500 births.

  • Over the past few years, Megan has been leaning into grief work, expanding her capacity for space holding and supporting the depths and nuances of this human experience. Like birth, Megan has found grief to be a humbling portal of intimacy and shared human experience; she is honored to be called on to sit with, support, and connect with other humans in these most vulnerable states of being.

  • Among many other things, Megan is a mother of 5 (2 bio babes - Halen & Flora & 3 bonus babes - Solace, Zavier, and Sahalie), a wife, an aspiring pelvic floor practitioner, a student of Universal Shamanism, and a devout lover of life.

  • Megan is a compassionate postpartum doula and mother of two dedicated to making the fourth trimester a season of ease, healing, and joy. She partners with growing families to offer personalized physical and emotional support, tailored newborn guidance, and nutrient dense, home cooked meals, giving parents the time and space they need to focus on what matters most.

  • In her free time, you’ll find her exploring the PNW with her family, lost in a good book, or trying out new recipes.
